We've been in South Africa for almost a month now and I love it so much. My team, the community, the school, just everything. I'm so in love.
It is so satisfying waking up every morning knowing that you're right where God wants you to be. God's presence is so evident in every aspect of the day while we are at the school (Olivenhoutbosh Christian school). The students thirst to know more about their Savior is evident in their every action. They dont see themselves as poor or needy. They have everything they could ever need. They have a family, a place to sleep at night, food on the table, and faith in Jesus Christ. What more could you really need?
South Africa is SO much different than I thought it would be. There aren't wild elephants roaming on the side of the street, its not always sunny and hot, and a good amount of people drive BMW's or Mercades and have beautiful houses. Me another another girl from my team are staying in a very nice home in Pretoria with a wonderful host family. Thanks to them we've gotten to live out some of our wildest dreams such as playing with lions and cheetas, and walking trunk in hand with elephants.
I am so beyond blessed to be here. Please continue to be praying for my team and I, that we will be able to continue having the energy everyday for all of the crazy kids (that we all love dearly) and also pray for the students, that they will have the energy to deal with the 11 of us and to continue to have the thirst to learn more about Jesus.
